This past summer I shot a short documentary piece on Joseph “The Wolfspider” Stelzik. He’s a 12 year old MMA prodigy and a super nice kid. This one was fun to shoot, I wasn’t sure what I was walking in to, but I think the piece turned out just how we wanted. Thanks to Duane Stelzik and Tony Scarpone for bringing me in.

I am currently head of video production for Billy Corgan’s (from the Smashing Pumpkins) RESISTANCE PRO WRESTLING here in Chicago. We are doing a monthly TV show on WCIU-too. It airs at 2am on Sunday nights! Here is the online version of the show. Best job ever.
My friend Ryan Luciani and I made this music video for our friend and musician, William Beckett. I think it turned out really nice. Its pretty simple and fits the vibe of the song well. Check it out!

I shot Lollapalooza again this year. It was awesome!!! Here are a few pictures that I thought turned out nice.
FROM THE BRAIN OF LANE SPODEK
Lane is an awesome person. He’s studying fashion at the school of the art institute in chicago. We made this short featuring his clothing. Its fucking insane. I love it. The inspiration comes from a Los Angeles news piece warning people to be weary of marijuana laced halloween candies.
When my friends William Beckett and Johnny Minardi called me up a month or so ago and told me that William was going to be putting out new music, I was really excited. They asked me if I could help out with some photography and make a short Documentary on William’s new journey. He and I have been friends since High School, we traveled the world together with his band The Aacademy Is… and have become kindred spirits over the years. He’s a really special person in my life. I am really happy with how this piece came out and am so excited to have been able to help out. This piece came together pretty easily. I think it some of my best work. Its so cool to work on projects I believe in and I think my feelings come through pretty effortlessly on this one. Please watch it in HD it looks waaay better that way!
Usually I stay away from looking at other photographers and videographers work on the internet, because I end up feeling like I suck and why even bother. However, I fucking love Clayton Hauck’s blog and think he is the best photographer in Chicago. Made By Man (the band I play guitar in) got the opportunity to play at Lincoln Hall with our longtime friends in Gemini Club for their sold out EP release show. It was a blast and Clayton was there taking pictures. I feel like I have my shit together and have a pretty deep knowledge of photography but I look at claytons work all the time and am like “how the fuck did he do that!!!!! that looks so Rad!” honored to have him take pictures of our funny little party band.
